What is
Percocet?
Percocet is in a class of drugs called narcotic analgesics. Percocet helps relieve the pain. Percocet has a combination of Aspirin, which is a less potent pain reliever, as well as an anti-inflammatory and a fever reducer. Aspirin increases the effects of oxycodone. The combination, aspirin and oxycodone, is used to treat moderate-to-severe pain. Aspirin and oxycodone may also be used for purposes other than those listed in this medication guide.
How should I take
Percocet
?
Percocet should not be crushed before taking. If you crush the Percocet tablets this could release the drug into the bloodstream too fast, possibly resulting in an overdose. If you are within an hour or so of your next dose, skip the missed Dose of Percocet and go back to your schedule. Taking double doses of Percocet is not recommended, as it may lead to an overdose or dependence.
Possible side effects from

If you experience any of the following serious side effects, Stop taking Percocet and seek emergency medical attention:
• an allergic reaction (difficulty breathing; closing of your
• throat; swelling of your lips, tongue, or face; or hives);
• slow, weak breathing;
• seizures;
• cold, clammy skin;
• severe weakness or dizziness;
• unconsciousness;
• yellowing of the skin or eyes;

Percocet is habit forming and should be used only under close supervision if you have an alcohol or drug addiction. Before taking Percocet, tell your doctors if you: drink more than three alcoholic drinks per day; have kidney disease; have liver disease; have asthma; have urinary retention; have an Enlarged prostate; have hypothyroidism; have a stomach ulcer; have a coagulation (bleeding) disorder; have congestive heart failure, High blood pressure. Percocet has not been approved for use by children.
What happens if I overdose with
Percocet?
Seek emergency medical attention if you have an overdose with Percocet. Symptoms of a Percocet overdose include slow breathing, seizures, dizziness, weakness, loss of consciousness, coma, confusion, tiredness, cold and clammy skin, small pupils, vomiting, and sweating.
